About The Curious Makers
The Curious Makers Arts & Crafts Club is a series of creative workshops designed to help children aged 5-16 explore art in a way that feels engaging, flexible, and genuinely enjoyable.
Sessions are neurodivergent-friendly and inclusive for all children, creating a space where different ways of thinking and creating are welcomed and supported.
The Curious Makers started from something quite personal.
I’m Yemi Edwards, an illustrator based in Lincolnshire. As a neurodivergent mum raising neurodivergent children, I know how important it is to have environments where kids feel comfortable being themselves.
Before this, I worked as a children’s lifestyle photographer, capturing real moments, personality, and creativity. I’ve always loved seeing how children naturally express themselves when they’re given the space to just be.
Curious Makers is my way of creating that space.
A place for curious minds to explore, experiment, get a little messy, and make something they’re proud of without pressure to get things “right.”
Whether a child wants to follow along or go completely off-track with their own ideas, they are completely welcome here.

Current Workshops
Clay Hanging Jellyfish Workshop
We’ll be using air-drying clay for the jellyfish bodies. The kids will explore mixed media to create a unique project to take home!
Join us in person for a fun and creative morning at The Reading Room in Grantham with The Curious Makers Arts and Crafts Club!
The kids will make their own miniature jellyfish in this imaginative clay-and-textile workshop for curious young makers.
Children will use air-drying clay to make jellyfish, decorate them with acrylic paint, then add ribbons, string, and beads to create colourful, textured tentacles full of movement and personality.
This is a wonderfully tactile, mixed-media project that encourages creativity, experimentation and hands-on making. As they create, children will explore colour, texture and composition, while building confidence through creative decision-making in a relaxed and inclusive environment.
Curious Makers workshops are designed to be neurodivergent-friendly, welcoming children to create at their own pace in a calm, supportive and playful space. Each child will leave with a unique jellyfish creation to proudly take home.

This workshop is designed to be:

- pressure-free
Children can follow along or explore their own ideas; both are completely welcome.
To keep the experience supportive and engaging, sessions are limited to 10 children.
This 1-hour workshop is suitable for children aged 7-13 (To support a calm and comfortable environment, parents/carers are asked to stay with their child throughout the session)
The session will start at 11am and finish at 12pm
